Türkiye’s BIST 100 index closes week at record high

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended the week at a record high of 6,437.74 points, hiking 1.09% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 6,415.52 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 69.39 points from the previous close.

The benchmark index rose 4.05% on a weekly basis as of Friday’s close.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 6,353.91, while its high was 6,446.01.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 5.5 trillion Turkish liras ($210.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 101 billion Turkish liras ($3.86 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,963.35, while Brent crude oil sold for around $80.11 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.1655, the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.4240, and the British pound traded at 34.3298 Turkish liras.
