Türkiye’s BIST 100 index closes midweek with loses

ANKARA

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 10,058.47 points, falling 0.40% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped 40.56 points from Tuesday’s close, extending its loses to a second consecutive day.

On Wednesday, transaction volume was 99.4 billion liras ($2.85 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.8657 as of 6.28 p.m. local time (1528GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.6408, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.4751.

The price of gold was $2,752.61 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $72.93.
