Türkiye’s BIST 100 index close Monday with gains

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Monday at 7,868.02 points, surging 2.10% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 7,792.84 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 162.03 points from Friday’s close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 7,788.61, while its daily high was 7,900.45.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 6.8 trillion liras ($238.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 82 billion liras ($2.88 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,990.85, while Brent crude oil sold for around $86.24 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.4402, the euro/lira exchange rate was 30.5450, and the British pound traded at 35.2025 Turkish liras.
