Türkiye’s BIST 100 down at Thursday’s close

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 5,012.34 points, falling by 0.97% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 5,037.42 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 48.88 points compared to the previous close.

The stock exchange traded for half a day on Thursday and will be closed on Friday due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The market will reopen on Monday.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,012.90, while Brent crude oil sold for around $81.59 per barrel as of 1.24 p.m. local time (1024GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.4032 and the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.2642, while the British pound traded at 24.1085 Turkish liras.
