Türkiye’s BIST 100 closes Monday in red

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,828.56 points, falling 0.80% from last week’s close.

After starting the day at 9,980.15 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 78.82 points with a daily transaction volume of 93.8 billion liras ($2.87 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,493.35, while Brent crude oil sold for around $80.86 per barrel as of 6.04 p.m. local time (1504GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 33.5334, the euro/lira exchange rate 36.6595, and the British pound traded at 42.8802 liras.
