Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar on Wednesday pledged to deepen cooperation with Venezuela in energy and mining following a meeting with the oil-rich country’s president, Nicolas Maduro.
“Our goal will be to further expand our relations, which are built on solid foundations, with our collaborations in the fields of energy and mining,” Bayraktar wrote on X.
As a result of the official visits under the leadership of Turkish and Venezuelan presidents, relations between the two countries have moved to a different dimension, Bayraktar added.
Earlier, Bayraktar held talks with other senior officials in the South American country.
He signed two separate memorandums of understanding in the fields of oil, natural gas and mining with Venezuelan Petroleum Minister Pedro Rafael Tellechea Ruiz and Ecological Mining Development Minister William Serantes Pinto.
“I hope that the signatures we have signed will produce results that will further deepen the relations between the two countries,” Bayraktar wrote in an earlier post.
