Defending champions Türkiye will host the 2026 CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship finals, the European Volleyball Confederation confirmed on Friday.
“We are taking EuroVolley to Türkiye at a time when women’s Volleyball has never been as popular,” CEV President Roko Sikiric said in a statement.
“With the home team due to defend their crown on home soil, fans will experience all the excitement and drama of elite Volleyball, and the event will for sure draw the attention of an astounding number of people across Europe and further beyond,” he added.
In addition to the national teams from the four host countries – Türkiye, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, and Sweden – eight other teams have secured their spots in the competition based on their standings in the 2023 edition. These teams are Serbia, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, France, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Slovakia.
Another 12 sides will join the continental elite of the sport after completion of the CEV EuroVolley 2026 qualifiers scheduled for the summer of 2025.
Türkiye captain Eda Erdem stated that as the reigning European champions, the Turkish team will once again serve as hosts for the European Championship.
“In 2026, the continental championship will be held in our beautiful country,” she added.
Erdem added that they are looking forward to sharing our passion for volleyball with the whole country in their home.
Türkiye last hosted the EuroVolley finals in 2019.
