Türkiye’s daily electricity consumption increased by 1.34% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, reaching a record high of 1,147,848 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,556 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,858 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 1,144,454 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 1.95% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 20.6% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 19.8% and 16%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,779 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 10,162 megawatt-hours.
