Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan sign trilateral defense agreement in Mecca

Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan on Friday signed a trilateral joint defense agreement in Mecca, according to a joint statement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Joint Defense Agreement.

The defense pact stipulates that an armed attack against any one of the signatories will be considered an attack against all three states.

It aims to strengthen ‘collective deterrence against all forms of aggression,’ the statement said.
