Türkiye loses to USA, eliminated from FIVB Women’s World Championship

ISTANBUL 

Team USA defeated Türkiye in straight-sets to qualify for the FIVB Women’s World Championship semifinals on Tuesday.

USA national won the quarterfinal game with the sets of 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 at Gliwice Arena, Poland.

Alexandra Frantti was the highest scorer of the match with 18 points while Andrea Drews added 14 points for the winning side.

Türkiye’s Ebrar Karakurt scored 16 points.

With Tuesday’s result, Team USA will face the winner of the Serbia-Poland clash.

The quarter and semifinal games, set for Oct. 11 and 13, respectively, will be played in Apeldoorn and Gliwice.

The tournament will conclude with the third place and final matches in Arnhem on Oct. 15.
