Türkiye daily power consumption down 7.8% on Saturday, July 15

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 7.8% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 991,984 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,558 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,973 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 979,942 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decline of 8.1% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 24% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and wind contributed 18.5% and 13.8%, respectively.

On Saturday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,619 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 17,661 megawatt-hours.
