Türkiye beat Canada in women’s Volleyball Nations League

ANKARA

Türkiye won against Canada in a FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League Pool 3 match 3-0 on Friday.

The Turkish women beat their Canadian opponents with the sets of 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 in Hong Kong, where the Nations League week 2 is played.

Earlier this week, the Sultans of the Net previously beat the Netherlands 3-0, but then lost to Poland with the same score in Hong Kong.

Opposite Melissa Vargas scored 17 points to lead Türkiye in the win over Canada. Ebrar Karakurt had 14 points for the Sultans of the Net.

Turkish captain Eda Erdem Dundar added 11 points.

Canadian captain Alexa Gray, who plays as an outside hitter, scored 17 points to lead her team. Kiera Van Ryk scored 10 points for Canada.

The Turkish national team will face Dominican Republic in another Pool 3 match on Sunday.

Türkiye have five wins in seven matches to be in the third spot in standings.

The Nations League is led by Poland, who won all their six matches in the 16-team competition.
