Turkish stocks up at weekly open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Monday at 5.064,79 points, up by 0.65%, or 32.81 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed the last week at 5,031.98 points, down 0.59%, with a daily trading volume of 52 billion liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.0880 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.5430, while a British pound traded for 23.3690 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.36 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,989.
