Turkish stocks up at Thursday open

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,675.35 points, up by 0.12% or 9.48 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed at 7,665.87 points, marginally falling by 0.07%, with a daily trading volume of 76 billion Turkish liras ($2.63 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.6890 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 31.0976, and a British pound traded for 35.5667 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $80.88 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,969.40.
