Turkish stocks slightly up at Tuesday’s open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 4,467.34 points, slightly up by 0.03%, or 1.15 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 4,466.19 points, falling by 0.79%, with a daily trading volume of 49.6 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.8427 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4782, while a British pound traded for 25.0445 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.05 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,963.90.
