Turkish stock exchange up by 1.24% at open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,622.69 points, soaring by 1.24%, or 93.38 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed the midweek at 7,529.31 points, down by 2.83%, with a daily trading volume of 82 billion liras ($2.82 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.0430 as of 10.28 a.m. local time (0728GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.7150, while a British pound traded for 36.6850 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $74.75 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,046.65.
