Turkish stock exchange up at weekly open

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Monday at 9,411.11 points, gaining 0.39% or 36.91 points versus the previous close.

At the last week’s close, the BIST 100 index rose by 0.29% to 9,374.20 points – a historic high closing level – with a daily transaction volume of 137 billion Turkish liras ($4.41 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 31.1100 as of 10.15 (GMT0715), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 33.7410, while the GBP/TRY rate was 39.4170.

One ounce of gold was for $2,044.35, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $80.60.
