Turkish stock exchange up at weekly open

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Monday at 8,400.05 points, gaining 0.64% or 53.77 points versus the previous close.

At last week’s close, the BIST 100 index was up 2.16% to 8,346.28 points, with a daily transaction volume of 110 billion Turkish liras ($3.63 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 30.3495 as of 10.08 (GMT0708), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 32.9480, while the GBP/TRY rate was 38.5780.

One ounce of gold was for $2,047.75, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $83.20.
