Turkish stock exchange up at weekly close

ISTANBUL 

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, closed at 8,908.47 points on Friday, marking a 0.40% increase from the previous close.

The index opened at 8,843.64 points, gaining 35.63 points from Thursday’s close. Throughout the day, it recorded a low of 8,782.55 and peaked at 8,921.64.

Of the listed stocks, 59 saw gains while 34 declined, with a total transaction volume reaching 60 billion Turkish liras ($1.74 billion). The overall market capitalization of the index stood at 7.77 trillion liras ($227.5 billion).

As of 7.05 pm local time (1605GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.2930, the EUR/TRY rate was 37.0815, and the GBP/TRY rate was 44.5015.

Gold traded at $2,736.60 per ounce, while the price of Brent crude oil was around $75.40 per barrel.
