Turkish stock exchange up at Tuesday open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 3,368.51 points, up by 0.77%, or 63.68 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 8,304.83 points, soaring 3.3%, with a daily trading volume of 157.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.78 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.2350 as of 10.35 a.m. local time (0735GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.8430, and a British pound traded for 33.4870 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.50 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,942.05.
