Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday’s open

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 8,104.04 points, up 0.99%, or 79.67 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed the midweek at 8,024.37 points, down 0.10%, with a daily trading volume of 75 billion liras ($2.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.1416 as of 09.52 a.m. local time (0652GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.8653, while a British pound traded for 38.2700 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.43 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,013.65.
