Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday’s close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,935.96 points, up 0.5% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, starting the fourth transaction day of the week at 9,912.17, gained 49.91 points from Wednesday’s close.

The transaction volume was at 83.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion) during the day.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,849.47, while the daily high was 9,965.51.

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.6990 as of 7 pm local time (1600GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.8020, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.3280.

The price of gold was $2,641.60 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $72.5.
