Turkish stock exchange up at Thursday opening

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 12,161.68, up 0.32% or 38.74 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell 2.03% to close at 12,122.94 points, with a daily transaction volume of 113.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 49.2150 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 55.2505 to the euro, and 64.9515 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,124.40, while Brent crude oil futures were trading at $103.35 per barrel.
