The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 8,514.47 points, gaining 0.21% or 17.8 points versus the previous close.
On the midweek’s close, the BIST 100 index rose by 0.26% to the highest level since October 2023 – 8,496.66 points – with a daily transaction volume of 99 billion liras ($3.27 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 30.3670 as of 10.00 a.m. (GMT0700), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 32.8610, while the GBP/TRY rate was 38.4485.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,060.50, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $80.60.
