Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 8,386.33 points, up by 0.64%, or 53.19 points, from the midweek close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index ended the day Wednesday at 8,333.14 points, down 2.12%, with a daily trading volume of 150 billion liras ($5.44 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.5685 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.0670, while a British pound traded for 33.4670 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $86.20 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,835.75.
