Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,763.70 points, up 0.34%, or 26.32 points, from last week’s close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 7,737.38 points, up 0.3%, with a daily trading volume of 168.57 billion Turkish liras ($6.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0590 as of 10.45 a.m. local time (0745GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 29.5780 and a British pound traded for 34.3690 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $85.98 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.05.
