Turkish stock exchange up at midweek’s close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 9,886.05 points, up 0.6% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, starting the third transaction day of the week at 9,858.69, gained 58.81 points from Tuesday’s close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,853.09, while the daily high was 9,940.31.

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.7525 as of 6.45 p.m. local time (1545GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.6260, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.1320.

The price of gold was $2,654.90 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $73.3.
