Turkish stock exchange up at Friday’s open

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 4,897.32 points, rising 1.02%, or 49.31 points, from the previous close.​​​​​​​

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 4,848.01 points, surging 7.87% after two straight gloomy sessions.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.5811 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.4075, while a British pound traded for 24.5053 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $74.59 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,013.95.
