Turkish stock exchange up at Friday’s open

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Friday at 8,040.29 points, up 0.3% or 24.2 points versus the previous close.

The BIST 100 index dropped slightly by 0.1% to 8,016.09 points, at Thursday’s close, with daily transaction volume of 92 billion Turkish liras ($3.04 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was at 30.1925 as of 18.05 (GMT1505), while the EUR/TRY rate was at 32.8800 and the GBP/TRY rate at 38.2785.

One ounce of gold was at $2,026.20, while barrel price of Brent oil was around $79.20.
