Turkish stock exchange up at Friday’s open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7,988.63 points, up by 0.12%, or 9.81 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 7,978.82 points, up 1.58%, with a daily trading volume of 84 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9765 as of 10.12 a.m. local time (0712GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.2540, and a British pound traded for 36.4430 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.60 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,045.95.
