Turkish stock exchange up at Friday open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 8,136.04 points, up by 0.21%, or 17.29 points, from Thursday’s close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index ended Thursday at 8,118.75 points, up 1.31%, with a daily trading volume of 141 billion Turkish liras ($5.22 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9750 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.7710, while a British pound traded for 33.5200 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $94.30 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,938.15.
