Turkish stock exchange up at close

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended the day at 4,470.97 points, up 0.11% from the previous close, on Tuesday.

Starting the second transaction day of the week at 4,467.34 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 4.78 points compared to Monday’s close.

The index’s lowest value on Tuesday was 4,436.49, while its daily high was 4,499.32.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 3.7 trillion Turkish liras ($187.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 39.78 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

During the day, 47 stocks on the index rose and 50 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,961.45, while Brent crude oil sold for around $77.30 per barrel as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.8550, the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.4480, and the British pound traded at 24.6709 Turkish liras.
