Turkish stock exchange opens Wednesday in green

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 5,515.87 points, soaring 2.36%, or 127.07 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 4,951.35 points, surging 3.83%, with a daily trading volume of 91 billion Turkish liras ($4.48 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 22.7060 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 24.2240, and a British pound traded for 28.1619 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $75.94 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,973.55.
