Turkish stock exchange opens midweek in the green

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 8,912.11 points, up 0.48%, or 42.97 points, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index spiked for the 10th straight session by 1.05% to close at a fresh all-time high of 8,869.14 points.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.6981 as of 09.54 a.m. local time (0654GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.9302, while a British pound traded for 38.5652 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.69 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,048.95.
