Turkish stock exchange looking up at Tuesday open

ANKARA

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,810.69 points, up 0.39%, or 33.99 points, from the previous close.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed at a fresh record high at 8,776.70 points, a hike of 1.28%, with a daily trading volume of 106 billion liras ($3.46 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.5690 as of 9.50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.8975, while a British pound traded for 38.3674 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.09 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,042.55.
