Turkish stock exchange flat at open

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,029.50 points, up slightly by 0.12 point versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.9% to 9,029.38 points with a daily transaction volume of 51 billion Turkish liras ($1.58 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.1720 as of 10.20 a.m. (0720GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.9345, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.6970.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,170.60, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $86.60.
