Turkish stock exchange down at open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened Tuesday at 10,008.82 points, down 0.2% or 20.49 points from the previous close.

On Monday, the BIST 100 index rose by 0.51% to 10,029.31 points, with a daily transaction volume of 96 billion liras ($2.71 billion).

As of 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT), the exchange rates stood at 35.6110 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 36.9875 for the euro, and 43.7220 for the British pound.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,727.30, and Brent crude oil traded at $79.05 per barrel.
