Turkish stock exchange down at Friday’s open

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7,854.17 points, down 0.53%, or 41.79 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 7,895.96 points, up 0.28%, with a daily trading volume of 92 billion liras ($3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.0910 as of 10.10 am local time (0710GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.9990, while a British pound traded for 38.4130 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $79.20 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,039.80.
