Turkish stock exchange down at close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,031.64 points, down 0.85% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index started the week at 9,155.77 points, and lost 77.7 points at close compared to Friday.

The lowest value of the index for the day was 9,005.39, while its daily high was 9,195.49.

While 58 indices dropped during the day, 41 gained value.

The total transaction volume reached 69 billion Turkish liras ($2.02 billion), while the overall value of the index was 7.87 trillion liras ($230.5 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 34.2680 as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 37.6160 and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.8450.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,645.20, while a barrel price of Brent oil was around $79.95
