The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 9,830.56 points, down 0.6% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, starting the last transaction day of the year at 9,857.39, lost 59.15 points from Monday’s close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,780.73, while the daily high was 9,942.55.
The BIST 100 index gained over 31% during the year 2024, up from 7,470.18 points as of the end of 2023.
During the day, 30 indexes gained in value while 70 indexes lost on Tuesday.
The daily transaction volume was at 86 billion Turkish liras ($2.43 billion), while the overall value of the index was at 8.55 trillion liras ($242.8 billion) as of the end of the year.
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 35.3560 as of 6:50 pm local time (1550GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.6340, and the GBP/TRY traded at 44.3130.
The price of gold was $2,622.72 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $74.50.
