Turkish stock exchange begins Friday looking up

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Friday at 9,218.30 points, increasing by 0.27% or 24.61 points versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.45% to 9,193.69 points with a daily transaction volume of 130 billion Turkish liras ($4.15 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 31.3205 as of 10.20 a.m. (0720GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 33.9110, while the GBP/TRY rate was 39.5610.

One ounce of gold was for $2,055.65, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $82.20.
