Serkan Kayalar, the president of Türkiye’s state aid agency TIKA, met Ahmed el-Bedrani, Iraq’s culture, tourism, and antiquities minister, in Baghdad on Tuesday.
During the meeting at the ministry building in Baghdad, Bedrani acknowledged TIKA’s significant and impactful projects in Iraq.
He said the ministry alongside with many foundations have been working in cooperation with TIKA.
Kayalar expressed happiness to be in Baghdad, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance. “We are pleased to develop projects for the Iraqi people. Iraq is culturally rich, making cultural tourism significant,” he added.
Noting that the cultural heritage across Iraq appeals to foreign tourists, Kayalar highlighted the importance of shrines of Imam Azam and Abdul Qadir Gilani for the city and the world’s cultural heritage.
