Turkish president, Russian counterpart discuss bilateral ties

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed on Monday bilateral relations as well as global and regional issues over phone, the Turkish Communications Directorate said.

Expressing his satisfaction over development of Turkish-Russian ties, Erdogan said high-level political dialogue between the two countries would continue.

He said they would discuss both regional and global issues in detail on various occasions in the coming period.

President Erdogan also congratulated Putin on his birthday.
