Turkish foreign minister voices solidarity with Iraqi Turkmens

ANKARA

Türkiye’s foreign minister met with the head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) on Tuesday in the Turkish capital Ankara, voicing solidarity with his country’s “Turkmen brothers.”

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said he and ITF chief Hasan Turan discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the situation of Turkmens.

“On this occasion, I congratulate the 28th anniversary of the Turkmen Front. We always stand with our Turkmen brothers!” the minister said on Twitter.

Turan was first elected as ITF leader in March 2021, replacing Arshad al-Salihi.
