Turkish deputy foreign minister, US under secretary of state discuss defense cooperation

ANKARA

The Turkish deputy foreign minister and the US under secretary of state met in Washington on Wednesday to discuss defense cooperation.

“Deputy Minister Ambassador Levent Gumrukcu met with Thomas G. DiNanno, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security in Washington, D.C,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on US social media company X.

“International security and defense cooperation matters were discussed during the meeting,” it added.

Gumrukcu also attended the roundtable meeting organized by the Atlantic Council in Washington, and “answered questions from the participants about Turkish-American relations, NATO and regional issues,” the ministry said in another post.
