Turkish benchmark stock index up at opening session

DUBAI

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,962.60 points, up by 0.35% or 28.03 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 7,934.56 points, down 2.2%, with a daily trading volume of 116 billion liras ($4.15 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.9015 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 29.4550 and a British pound traded for 33.9640 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $89.90 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,932.65.
