Turkish armored vehicle Akrep II gearing up for mass production

The Turkish-made next generation armored vehicle Akrep II (Scorpion) 4×4 is gearing up for mass production.

According to information obtained by Anadolu from vehicle maker Otokar, Akrep II is one step closer to mass production.

The Akrep II has successfully completed all the performance and durability tests of military standards, and showed superior performance in firing tests by gun turrets of various calibers integrated to it.

Moreover, two countries in different regions tested the Akrep II under their own countries’ conditions.

Developed to meet the needs of modern armies with its low silhouette, high mobility, and survivability, the Akrep II family has been acclaimed for its modular structure suitable for carrying medium caliber turrets up to 90 millimeters.

It can reach a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour and is suitable for various mission types such as surveillance, armed reconnaissance, air defense, and forward observer.
