Turkish-American community removed an advertising placed by FETO

by The Istanbul Post

NEW YORK, NY

The campaign advertised by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) affiliated association placed on a digital billboard screen in New York City, near Times Square in Manhattan ‘STOP ERDOGAN’, caused protests by the Turkish-American Steering Committee (TASC) and citizens of the Turkish-American community.

TASC Co-chair Halil Mutlu stated that the advertisement given by FETO members greatly angered the Turks and said: “Members of the Turkish community living in the United States protested the advertising company that published the advertisement by phone and e-mail. As TASC, we reached out to company executives who posted the advertisement.

‘FETO’s DARK SIDE’

“We told them all the activities and dark side of the FETO organization, especially the coup in Turkey. They told us they were unaware of them, they were just published the ad, which was published as a commercial organization. We also said that this ad, which was completely outraged, has harmed the Turkish-American community and if they don’t remove it, we’re going to file a lawsuit. When they saw the determination of Turkish society, they removed the advertisement.”

TASC Vice President Israfil Demir said he was proud to raise the voice of the Turkish American community’s voice against FETO’s doodling campaign. “The only voice in the United States against injustice is a Turkish diaspora, which has bravely reaction to brave reaction,” he said.

INVESTIGATION STARTED

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against those who posted the advertisement.

DIGITAL SCREENED TRUCK AGAINST ADVERTISEMENT

A digital screened van was circulated yesterday in Times Square in response to the advertisement given by FETO members and removed after the reactions.

Visuals depicting the inside of FETO and the July 15 coup attempt were published on the digital screen of the truck traveling with the organization of the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC). The speech that President Tayyip Erdogan read on the 4th anniversary of the July 15 memorial program was shown with English subtitles. The digital screen van will travel around Times Square 8 hours a day for 3 days.
