Tottenham Hotspur returned to the top of the English Premier League after beating Fulham 2-0 on Monday in a match at home.
Spurs’ South Korean star Son Heung-min scored the opener in the 36th minute after Richarlison’s assist. Son was onside when he received the pass by Richarlison and curled to beat Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
In the 54th minute, Spurs doubled their lead. English attacking midfielder James Maddison, assisted by Son, sent a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner to cement the win.
Ange Postecoglou’s men were victorious at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to return to the top of the league with 23 points in nine matches.
Tottenham Hotspur’s nearest opponents are Manchester City and archrivals Arsenal. Both clubs have 21 points each to be after Spurs.
Fourth-place Liverpool have 20 points after a 2-0 derby win over Everton on Saturday.
Leaders Spurs will next visit Crystal Palace on Friday.
On Sunday, the Premier League will see a derby between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford, one of the big games in the league.
