Sandra Lindsay said she hoped people would believe in the power of the vaccine to end the pandemic after being vaccinated at a live broadcast ceremony attended by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The nurse said, “I feel hopeful, relieved today. I feel recovery is coming. Hopefully today will be the beginning to end a very painful period in our history. “I want to instill confidence in the public to believe that the vaccine is safe.”

President Donald Trump also announced on Twitter that the vaccination process has started.

“The first vaccine was given. Congratulations to the USA! Congratulations to the WORLD!

The USA launched the largest vaccination operation in the history of the country today against the COVID-19 outbreak. After the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Friday, 2.9 million doses of vaccine were distributed to certain points throughout the country.

Vaccination will start with priority groups in certain hospitals. The process is planned to start from today in hospitals in Texas, Utah and Minnesota, as well as in New York. The vaccines will first be distributed to 145 of the 636 vaccination centers established across the country.
